Over the last week, we have reported and monitored a bug within Facebook that impacts the sharing of website content to Facebook. Facebook is currently affected by this bug, and it is causing image previews not to display in the share dialog for all websites across Facebook. For content that has recently been published, the og:image will not be presented in the share message preview. It is affecting a large number of sites on the Facebook Platform. Facebook has acknowledged the bug on their end and is actively working to fix it.
The details of this bug are that the “Fetch New Scrape Info” button / API endpoint works, but does not update the image in the share dialogue preview. Your sharing should still work normally, despite the preview not displaying.
While this issue isn’t caused by any , we wanted to make you aware of it.

This is currently the #1 priority bug within Facebook and across all of other Facebook platforms, so we expect it to be resolved quickly. We’ll put up another article or update the existing one on the status once the issue is resolved. But you can keep yourself updated by staying glued to read from this page.

The share message preview may not include a picture. We have seen instances where the image is correctly populated after the share is posted, but this behavior is inconsistent.
Facebook may serve the wrong image in the share message. Sometimes we have seen Facebook publish a random image from a given page, but this behavior is also inconsistent.
The bug, reported earlier on above, according to the Facebook Team, has been taken care of as I’m writing this.
As of last night, Facebook resolved the issue and images will now appear as they should in the share dialogue preview when your content is shared. You can check and verify if this Facebook share dialogue preview issue continues at your end and let me know if there’s any below.

Facebook May Now Show Multiple Posts From The Same Source
What Facebook said:
“Formerly, we had rules in place to limit you from seeing multiple posts coming from the same source in a row. But with this update, we are easing this rule. Now if you run out of content, but want to stay longer by browsing through your News Feed, you will discover more content.”
What this means for you: Facebook will no longer bundle or hide posts from the same source of content. In the same vein, more pieces of your post have a higher chance of being seen by users, and may drive more referral clicks each time readers share your content. This means optimizing those share messages through tools like Hootsuit or Naytev, can galvanize more referral clicks.
Facebook Is Prioritizing Posts That Users Share Organically
What Facebook said:
“Content posted directly by the friends you care about most, such as links, photos, status updates, or video will algorithmically be processed to show up higher in the News Feed so you are less likely to miss it.”
What this means for you: Organic sharing from your website is now more critical than ever. Publishing content on your Facebook page will still drive engagement, but the visibility of your posts will likely have less and less priority over organic shares from your site and app visitors. This update is not too surprising – Facebook has systematically reduce the reach of Pages long time ago, that is why it was tagged “Death of Organic Reach” by Martin Beck in his post.
Facebook Is Deprioritizing Posts That Friends Like and Comment On But Don’t Share
What Facebook said:
“Lastly, many people have told us they don’t enjoy seeing stories about their friends liking or commenting on a facebook contents aside what they wanted to read. This new update will make these updates appear lower down in News Feed or disappear totally, so you are more likely to see the stuff you care about directly from friends and the pages you have liked.”
What this means for you: As with the second update, this further solidifies organic sharing as the primary driver of visibility on social media. Facebook post Likes and Comments are still very helpful in there little way, but Facebook Shares are king. We’ve noticed this transition first hand, and want you to use it to your advantage.

They had a significant influence on pop culture and music.
Unfortunately this era was short lived with Myspace falling down the pecking order of one of the most used Social Mediums in the world, similarly to Bebo. This was a fortunate stepping stone for the likes of Facebook and Twitter, enabling them to take off imminently. Not so long after, we had wonderful creations popping up from absolutely everywhere. Some of which include the likes of Instagram, one of the fastest growing social networks of all time, reaching one million downloads in the short space of only two and a half of months, making them indestructible in regards to fastest growing social mediums. Other names include WhatsApp, the mobile messenger giants; Snapchat, a photo messaging application developed by Evan Spiegal, Bobby Murphy and Reggie Brown, former Stanford University students.
Moving on, Pinterest is another revolutionary application but available for both mobile and web, it offers visual discovery, collection, sharing and storage tool. Adding to all of these mediums we have last but not least Youtube, who are the largest video-sharing website in the world, late owned by Google and based in the ever famous California. Each and every one of these apps, websites and social networks, have all over time successfully contributed in making this remarkable competitive market to anyone who wishes to strive in bringing a new lease of life into the technology world. Many would argue that, the internet holds everything a market would require to satisfy a user. Conversely, others would say that there is still a gap in the market and plenty of room for opposition to come in with new projects and better what is currently out there.
Alternatively, through various bits of research through one of our very own surveys. We found out that social media users are still disgruntled about certain features, arousing concerns within mediums, allowing them to be exploited. Funny you should be confused? Yes, that’s right! For years, social networks have exploited their users through small print. Honestly, who has the patience to go through all of these little words upon agreeing to sign up to something as exciting as Facebook? So not only are users unwittingly disclosing their entire confidential data via their phone but they are also allowing themselves to be marketed. Reports claim that this collected data is then both marketed and advertised back to you via the form of spam emails and popups. It just goes to show you that nobody in our common world can be trusted. Even if they are not in the wrong and are craftily pulling the wool over your eyes. The worst thing about all of this is, that if you wanted to opt out of the likes of Facebook messenger accessing all of your personal details, it is not possible in any way or form on most devices. We have heard of very few cases of which android based mobile handsets have enabled users to change the permissions for this even though this hasn’t been proven nor confirmed. This is sadly, leaving people with no choice but to either shut their social network accounts down or stick with them and suffer being subjugated against their will. This is the result of a lack of options or a narrow minded approach of conning innocent loyal users.

After a big battle with Apple and Samsung for more than a decade, Sony sets to return as the leader in the video game industry, planning to give it its best shot in its latest moves.
The company which has refused to announce profits for five out of the six past years is on the verge of building its popular PlayStation4 gaming console into a great entertainment kit and develops a virtual-reality headset for the addicted gaming world.
Project Morpheus headset is the new business the Japanese company is working on and has already unveiled at the Los Angeles electronics expo.
It is expected to compete Oculus VR, the virtual-reality goggle pioneer recently acquire by Facebook.
One of the biggest hopes Sony has is in its video gaming department as its television, Smartphone and tablet industry has refused to make profit in about a decade as they continually run a big race with the giant companies; Apple and Samsung.
Virtual-reality is more than just gaming, but video gaming is seen as a killer application to introduce the concept commercially, later inside the action, watching sports and even taking classes online will come on board.
The Rift, which is the name of the Oculus headset, has to be connected to a high-powered PC for it to perform well.
Virtual-reality goggles have been in demonstration for decades, but the screen technology has only become cheap not until recently and can now be mass produced for market purpose.
In match, Facebook announced its interest in buying the California based Oculus for $US2 billion.
Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO said “the technology opens up the possibility of completely new kind of experiences”.
Oculus Chief, Brendan Iribe admitted that Sony coming into the industry will make the game change, they are early adopters who had discovered how virtual-reality and gaming entertainment work together.
“A decade from now, VR glasses are going to be ubiquitous and disrupt many of the industries as we know them today” Said Iribe.
It was an acquisition that stood to change the smartphone world, but to date it hasn’t made much impact. Nearly two years ago Google agreed acquire Motorola Mobility, giving the primary developer of Android a handset division to go with it. The possibilities were, and still are, endless. Yet it seems as though nothing has changed. To nearly every consumer, Motorola is still Motorola, rather than Google’s handset division.
According to Google, that’s the game plan. They claim to have acquired Morotola for its array of patents, which it will use, and has used, in defense of lawsuits from Apple and Microsoft. But with such a powerful asset within their company, it stands to reason that Google will eventually move forward with Motorola as their own vehicle for Android.
Right now it’s just what they need.
Facebook changes the game
When Facebook announced Facebook Home, it was met with little fanfare. Many people had decided, before even seeing the announcement, that they weren’t interested. Why would anyone want to make Facebook the center of their mobile experiences? Yet that misses a fundamental point about Facebook’s latest mobile gambit.
Don’t listen to tech snobs who had made a decision about Facebook Home before trying it: the platform does have plenty to offer. Even if people don’t switch now, Facebook has a foot in the door. Think of this like an experiment, such as those described by Eric Reis in The Lean Startup. Now Facebook can more closely monitor how people behave on their mobile phones and tweak their strategy accordingly.
In other words, Facebook is creating a new mobile landscape. It’s certain that others will follow, hijacking Android for their own gain. The only solution is for Android to fight back.
Learning from the best
When it comes to creating products that consumers love, there is perhaps no company more effective than Apple. Steve Jobs brought Apple back from the dead, because he knew how to create products that would resonate with consumers. Part of his formula involved combining hardware with software. The iPod required iTunes to run. The iPhone came with its own operating system.
Controlling both hardware and software allowed Apple to in turn control the whole experience. That is key in their ability to create products consumers want. With Android there is a fragmented experience. Google develops the software, but manufacturers create the devices. On top of that, they also create their own Android overlays, which changes the experience from device-to-device. An HTC and a Samsung smartphone might both run Android, but they both provide different experiences.
If Google utilizes Motorola to its fullest, it can realize that same level of control that Apple does. Google would deliver its own vision, the original vision, of the Android software, coupled with a fine-tuned hardware experience. It wouldn’t have to deal with HTC using an unpopular skin or Samsung using flimsy parts. It would be the exact phone that Google envisions. Chances are it’s a phone that consumers would enjoy.
Think about it in terms of the Nexus series. On those Google was able to control the software end. Now imagine they were able to add their own custom, presumably high-end, hardware. It’s something that would pique consumers, if not enthrall them.
The final reason Google should take fuller advantage of Motorola: increasing competition. For a few years iPhone and Android were the only two real choices for consumers. BlackBerry had busted, and Microsoft continually failed to deliver a quality Windows Phone product. But this year the competition is getting fiercer. Google taking closer control of Android would put them in a better position.
Microsoft might not have much juice with Windows Phone 8, but the BlackBerry 10 phones have certainly made an impact (especially on an international basis). They’re not the only ones. Firefox announced dozens of partners for its Firefox OS, which it will release later this year. Samsung, the most popular Android manufacturer, has partnered on the Tizen OS, and will release a Tizen-based phone later this year.
With all this competition, it makes sense for Google to make Motorola its flagship Android. They could better position themselves in an increasingly dense marketplace. This goes especially if Samsung makes a move towards Tizen. Losing Samsung as a partner could hurt, but Google could more than compensate if it made Motorola the manufacturer of the Google Phone.
To date we have seen Google take little advantage of its Motorola acquisition outside the courtroom. Yet the potential is always there. We’re already hearing plenty about the Motorola X Phone. Could that be Google’s big move with Motorola, creating a closer alignment between Android software and hardware? Maybe. If not, it still stands to reason that Google will make such a play in the near future. The conditions are rips. That’s for certain.
Facebook, Facebook and Facebook. This social networking giant is everywhere on the web. The way Facebook has progressed in the past some time is just awesome and the popularity of this social networking giant is quite clear from its user base. Facebook keep finding its way to news with its activities and changes. The biggest change made by Facebook was the introduction of Timeline and made it mandatory for every Facebook user. Regarding this, Facebook gave a week’s time to the users to switch to new Timeline, in early January this year. Most of the users did not like the Facebook timeline at the first look, but all are parsing it now.
Te end of year 2012 is near and reports are coming that Facebook is testing a new timeline design. It is tweaking the Timeline design to make it better than what it is now. This was brought into light by ABC News. Facebook rolled out the new Facebook Timeline design specially for a one of ABC News’ anchors on Wednesday, as posted by ABC News.

Well, before you think it as a rumor only, let me tell you that Facebook has signed the words posted by ABC News, and stated:
This is a new Facebook Timeline design and we’re testing it with a small number of people in order to make navigating timeline even easier.
ABC News shares that the new timeline design being in test mode by Facebook, has Tabs in it. The Thumbnails that you see in the current timeline, like the ‘Friends’, ‘Photos’, ‘Likes’ are not part of new design. In the new timeline design, the name of will move to the cover photo. The inclusion of the ‘Tabs’ in place of thumbnails in this new timeline design, will help profile visitor to check out the ‘About’ part, by staying on the same page. With this ‘Tabs’ coming in the new timeline design, one can check out the Timeline, Photos, About, Friends all those stuff on the single page. While the current design takes you to separate page. The stuff other Friends, Likes can be seen by clicking on the ‘More’ Tab. Precise number of followers will be shown in the new timeline design. For example, if any user has 99,201 likes, then it will be shown as 99k. A better way, a smarter one.
As the ABC News shares further, the new timeline design will put all the posts in single stream while the friends and other info will be on the right side. If this happens, then it would probably be the best feature in new timeline design, as in current timeline, one has to move from one side to another again and again to check the posts. The rumors were there in the last month that Facebook is about to put all the posts in single column
Well, as the current timeline was highly opposed by all the users, in its starting period, chances are there that the new timeline design, which may come anytime soon, will also be opposed. The social networking giant Facebook is glowing in the news all over the web because of new changes becoming part of it. Well, as you know, Facebook is the no.1 social networking website and has more than 800 million active users. There always had been privacy related issues with Facebook. A long back, the users complained that Facebook is selling their personal info to the advertisers to fill its own pocket. If you are an active user of this social networking giant, then you might have noted the new ‘Privacy’ button that just became part of Facebook. This button locates at the top right side of your Facebook profile page, and has ‘Lock’ as its icon.
This new button enables you to go through your privacy settings with ease. While the Facebook always keep facing the privacy related blames from its esteemed users, still it is rolling out an update that will let any stranger to inbox you for $1 only.
As you know, if by going through your privacy settings, you can make sure that no stranger, whom you personally don’t know, disturb you by sending friend request, commenting on your posts, or by sending you message. But the ‘Message’ part will no longer be in your control as any stranger can send you message by paying $1 only. It does not matter what your privacy settings are, any stranger will come, will pay $1 to Facebook, and the person will be allowed to message you – this is embarrassing!
Facebook announced about it in a blog post and addressed it as a ‘Small Experiment’. The blog post reads:
“This test on our service will offer a small percentage of people the feature to pay in order to have a message delivered to the Inbox of the recipient rather than the Other folder that the recipient is connected with.”
Writing in its blog post, Facebook give some examples to make the users understand the benefit of this new feature. According to Facebook, this feature is extremely useful in the case, if you’re going to send a message to person whom you are not friend with, and heard the same in any event. Also, if you want to contact any person about a job opportunity, but are not connected with him/her at the social network, then this feature will enable you to reach your message to that person’s inbox. The receiver will also get benefit from the feature, as they’ll be able to hear from all those people, who have an important message to send them.
This new feature is yet in the ‘Test Mode’ and is getting tested with the people living in U.S. The no. of messages that will get routed from the ‘Other’ folder to ‘Inbox’ folder will be restricted (limited) to maximum of one message per week. Facebook also says that it is working to make the Inbox stringent by introducing the new filters. The Facebook “BasicandStrict filters” feature enable the users to decide whether the emails coming to their @Facebook email ID, will be visible in ‘Inbox’ folder or ‘Other’ folder.
As the feature is in the ‘Test’ mode as of now; it will take some time to roll this feature for every Facebook user. Some days ago on this platform, Olawale Daniel observed some changes that is coming up on Facebook, the Smiley and emoticons for live chat and comments, shortcuts and attachment. These observations set me into watching Facebook over some days now.
Naturally, it’s only the live chat platforms I see smiley, but what Zuckerberg has came up with will really be a success for this social platform, lets watch out the implication on the Facebook stock. I remembered when facebook included edit on its comment board, now it’s another technique entirely for Mark Zuckerberg creativity team. You can show how you feel on the update of your friend, by choosing a smiley.
Apart from these, other observation is that of the file sharing, the claim was that Facebook will be doing this together with Dropbox, where you can share files through this social platform unlike going to your email before you are able to do this.
The Changes on the Facebook Messaging
You know it’s been long that Facebook incorporated the live chat with messaging. Whenever your friend went offline during the time you were chatting with each other, the last message you drop appears in his inbox, and whenever he is back to chat, your chat history is quickly uploaded so you can continue, this feature is retained by Facebook. And the new feature it has added, Olawale Daniel has been playing with the smiley on each message he sent to me. 🙂
A list of your friends is presented on the left, and whenever you click on any of them, your message history is quickly displayed on the middle without tampering with your friend list, if you want to view message history for somebody else, just click on that person and it is quickly displayed, at the top is a “New message” button, where you can compose a message to send to a new friend, let me not forget this, this messaging is a thread view system where can scroll to see message conversation you have been getting as you scroll.
Below the message box is provided an option where you are able to add files and photos to send to your friend in your message. This is different from the photos you upload on your wall. Only the person you send it to gets it. I am not sure yet which file format it supports and which it will not upload and send, as well as the minimum size of file you are able to upload at a time, but certainly, you can now upload you file and photos directly to send on Facebook on a well designed and arranged platform.
At a click on the “New message” button, you get a message box where you can type your message, and at the top, a space where you can fill your friend’s name or Email. I was thinking you can send a message to Email boxes like yahoo and Gmail, because of the inscribed option, “Name or Email”, but when I tried inserting an Email address, the box was doing an auto-search of people from Facebook, which shows that you can’t message anybody outside the Facebook network, the inscription means, either “Facebook Email”, or “Facebook Name”. It’s cool all the same; the upgrade is worth applause.
One more thing is that, the last time you had a conversation with your friend is displayed on each friend and whoever is present online, it indicates with a green dot just as before.

A search box is provided where you can quickly search your friend to send a message instead of scrolling a list of the 5000 friends you have got on board.
I believe this is still not the end as Facebook will never get tired of improvement with its messaging platform. But for this little ones we are able to report, feel free to share your experience.

In the report, it was revealed that 1.13 trillion ‘likes’ along with 140.3 billion peeps connections had been generated since inception, photo shares hit 219 billion since the 2005 launch revealing the population of photos currently on Facebook, except the deleted ones.
The check-ins made on Facebook has gone up to 17 billion which are location tagged updates.
The data collection also tells us that songs played 22 billion times had reached 62.6 million, that will be around 210, 000 years of music and stand for played songs since the music listening application had been launched in September 2011.
Speaking on these achievements, Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg said, “This morning there are more than one billion people using Facebook actively each month. Thank you for giving me and my little team the honor of serving you. Helping a billion people connect is amazing, humbling and by far the thing I am most proud of in my life.”
More on the report showed that 2.7 billion and 2.45 billion content items ‘Likes’ are being shared everyday on Facebook, also over 300 million photos are uploaded on daily basis. On Facebook mobile, the report revealed that 600 million users access Facebook from their mobile device at least once a month.
Over 7,000 different mobile devices is accessing Facebook and more than 170 million customers are driven to Apple’s apps store and Google Play on monthly basis. The census also revealed that iOS and Android apps built with Facebook integration had hit 185, 000, 55% for Android and iOS is grossing 40% of the apps which is Facebook integrated.
As Facebook reported, over nine million websites and apps are Facebook integrated and the timeline apps which has been launched is over 7,000 since all developers were given rights to Open Graph in Jan 2012. More than 220 million active users per month were found on Facebook App Center and the number of Facebook gamers every month is around 235 million.
As CEO Mark Zuckerberg was rounding up, he said, “I am committed to working every day to make Facebook better for you, and hopefully together one day we will be able to connect the rest of the world too.”
Facebook has just made a great move in their acquisition process, buying off Instagram for a whopping $1 billion, both in cash and stock.
Instagram is a mobile phone integrated photo sharing application (it only work for mobile phone users) for all mobile users. The app has grew from 1 million users from January 2011 to 15 million users in December 2011 all because of people’s craze for the app. And as of now, the app is having about 30 million users already.
Instagram app is very fast, sharing similarity with Facebook as one of the easiest loading application on the internet. Though, it is even faster than Facebook when it comes to loading time and good user experience. With the official Facebook iPhone app, user has to go through six phone screens before they can take pictures on their device while on Instagram, the process is just one.
In February, Business Insiders has described Instagram as the biggest rival to Facebook.
Finally, Facebook Buys Instagram
Just now, Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, just announced the news on Facebook about the takeover of the popular mobile-only photo sharing tool.
