The latest android flagship smartphone from HTC is named as “One”. Yes, the only One this time no further character. As always the design is the key of the device and it looks really stunning.
HTC has created the body of the device with all aluminium and the display is perfectly fixed into the body. It is very hard to find out any gap between the body and display.
The only device which is there in the market that can compete this device in design is the iPhone 5 so here I am comparing both the devices.
HTC One gaining momentum over iPhone 5
Design
Designs of both the devices are unique but HTC One has got sharp edges that look identical with that of iPhone 5. Both the devices have complete aluminum body with display firmly fixed. It is very hard to select one device out of these two if I consider the design.
Processor
HTC One has got super speedy quad core processor with clock speed of 1.7GHz that is added with Adreno 320 GPU to provide the perfect graphics performance. While the iPhone 5 has got the dual core 1.2GHz processor added with PowerVR’s GPU that also provide the perfect graphics performance. The multi tasking speed of HTC One is better than of iPhone 5.
Display
HTC One has bigger 4.7 inch display with full HD resolution of 1080×1920 pixels while the iPhone 5 has got 4 inch display with above HD resolution of 640×1136 pixels. Both the device supports multi touch but the display of HTC One is better as it got better pixel density (469 ppi) than of iPhone 5 (326 ppi).
Storage
HTC One is available with 2GB RAM fixed for the CPU and 32 or 64GB internal storage for the user and operating system while the iPhone 5 is available with 1GB RAM fixed for the CPU and 16 or 32 or 64GB internal storage. Both the devices don’t have external slot for microSD card.
Wireless Connectivity
The HTC One has got Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and Infrared wireless connectivity features while the Apple iPhone 5 has only Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Talking about cellular connectivity, both the devices are compatible with 2G, 3G (HSDPA) and 4G (LTE) cellular network standards.
iPhone 5 seems to be winning here
Camera
HTC has brought a new kind of camera at rear of the device having 4MP ratings but the sensor size is same. The quality of the videos and pics are even better than of a 13MP smartphone camera. At front, it has 2.1MP camera with HDR feature.
iPhone 5 has got 8MP camera at rear that provides high quality pics and videos. The quality is so stunning that it beats the quality of 13MP camera. It has got 1.2MP camera that is capable of recording HD quality videos.
Mobile Operating System (OS)
HTC One operates on Google’s android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 operating system that is upgradable to the latest version of Jelly Bean (4.2.2) as well while the iPhone 5 operates on Apple’s iOS 6 operating system. Android is the leading operating system in the smartphone market but still the iOS is best.
Good or Bad Battery Life
iPhone 5 provides a pretty decent battery life of 8 hours in a day with general internet surfing, playing videos and music files with everyday calls and texts while the HTC One also provides almost the same battery life. HTC One has got more powerful battery but due to its full HD bigger display and quad core processor it consumes more battery.
Both the devices have been provided with non removable standard batteries.
Conclusion
If you are really confused whether to go for iPhone 5 or HTC One, all I can only say is for you to go for HTC One since it’s recently launched. And moreover, iPhone 5 is much costlier than HTC One, but we do not want to disappoint you if you’re a Apple fanboy and not bother with cost of the phone, go for iPhone 5.
